Meet the team in Stirling

Hemant qualified in Dentistry from Liverpool University (BDS) in 1991. Following a period of vocational training and as an associate in NHS general dental practice he then spent some years as an SHO in maxillo-facial surgery in order to acquire further qualifications to enable him to train as a specialist orthodontist.

He completed his orthodontic specialist training at Manchester Dental School in 2000. On completion of this he became a member in Orthodontics of both the England and Edinburgh Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

During this time he opened his first orthodontic practice in the North West of England and subsequently opened another three. Whilst practising in specialist orthodontic practice he had 6 years’ experience as a Locum Consultant in the NHS dealing with complex multi-disciplinary cases jointly with restorative and maxillo-facial consultants.

Currently and for the last 14 years he has held an academic teaching post as Clinical Consultant at the University of Central Lancashire School of Medicine and Dentistry where he is course lead for Orthodontic Therapy. He holds a membership of the Faculty of Dental Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. He is an examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He is also an accredited user of Invisalign and WIN/Incognito lingual appliances. He still practices specialist orthodontics in Liverpool both privately and within the NHS together with his teaching commitments.

In his spare time he enjoys watching various sports and is a keen traveller with his family.

Justine is a Specialist Orthodontist with over 18 years of experience in specialist practice, providing orthodontic care for both adults and children. She is passionate about helping patients achieve confident, natural smiles using modern orthodontic techniques and technology.

After graduating in Dental Surgery from the University of Glasgow in 2001, Justine gained hospital experience at Glasgow Dental Hospital before completing her MOrth training at Dundee Dental Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary, achieving her specialist orthodontic qualification in 2008.

She offers a full range of private and NHS orthodontic treatments, including fixed braces (metal and aesthetic), removable appliances and clear aligner systems. Over the past six years, she has developed experience in clear aligner therapy and treats a wide range of cases using Angel Aligners.

She aims to deliver personalised care, with a strong focus on patient comfort, efficiency and achieving the best possible outcomes for each individual.

Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and keeping up with busy family life with her two teenagers.

Dr Baker has had a special interest in orthodontics for over 25 years. During this time, he has gained experience in removable, functional and fixed appliance systems.

His career began in 1985. After qualifying from the University of Dundee, he joined the Royal Navy as a Dental Officer and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander before completing his commission in 1991.

After entering general practice, he developed a strong interest in orthodontics and treating younger patients. One year later, he moved into an orthodontic practice, where he continued to develop his experience in the field.

He completed an MSc in Orthodontics at the University of Warwick in 2019 and is an accredited Invisalign® provider.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his four children, who keep him busy. He aims to have a caring and approachable manner and particularly enjoys helping young people throughout their orthodontic treatment, taking time to listen to his patients and discuss their treatment options and goals.

I enjoy helping people with their smile. I am trained and certified with Align to use the Invisalign Clear Aligner system. Outside work I enjoy time with family and my horses.
